TBF, I expected this. Defensively, Watford is atrocious. Claudio never got them tight & never got a clean sheet over 13 matches. They can score in bunches but that is not even enough. I watched the last two matches (vs Newcastle then vs Norwich) -- the season was right there for the taking. Just not good enough. A tie and an embarrassing loss.

Wouldn't surprise me if Big Sam Allardyce is hired. Probably what they need, though the fans will hate his tactics.
better get it right this time - this is not the type of hat trick fans are seeking

is it, though? typically, in my perception, managers get the sack after losing one too many matches

He lost 10 of 13. Lost to Norwich. Badly. Barely tied Newcastle. Both proverbial 6 pointers. Couldn't keep a clean sheet. Started 16th (maybe 15th) on the table. Now 19th.
Don't get me wrong, I admire CR immensely. I wanted to see improvement in the squad, there was none.

Yeah, you're done."
That's a pretty hilarious comment and definitely harsh when pulling the "scored on by an American" comment.

Yeah, Josh Sargent is no Landon Donovan, Christian Pulisic, Clint Dempsey, Brian McBride, or even Joe Max Moore. He's Josh Sargent.

I wasn't going to point that out.. but yeah...

Regardless, still an American playing in the EPL, and you forgot McKennie

Roy Hodgson has been hired to fix the mess at Watford.

My hope is that, regardless of whether they are relegated or not (I tend to think they will be), that he rights the ship and makes them competitive.

Watford is truly living the Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times."

From FI:
"As if it needed confirmation, Claudio Ranieri has again been hailed as the nicest man in football after wishing Watford good luck under his replacement Roy Hodgson.

The Italian tactician was sacked after just 14 competitive matches in charge, which saw him pick up two wins, a draw and 11 defeats.

“I can only say good luck to everybody – to Watford, the fans, the board,” Ranieri told Sky Sports News as he drove out of the training ground for the last time.

“That’s football, but I believe that these three new players, Watford can be safe. And also arrives a fantastic manager. I wish all the best. Thank you.”

This Chelsea side could easily get upset.

No James, no Chilwell. A lumbering center forward who can't score (and isn't any better than the gang who can't shoot straight from last year).

And footie gets no respect here in the U.S.

NBC is not showing any games today on either over-the-air or on U.S.A. network. All Olympics instead.

And FS1 isn't showing Club World Cup

Unfortunately, not provided by Sling...

Thank goodness I’m boycotting the Qatar World Cups. Would otherwise need to shell out for quite a few streaming services.
