Asturias
I've heard this before, but someone in a backpacking forum I frequent just posted it. Asturias is a region in northern Spain. Apparently it was originally compose for piano, but I have to say that I really like the guitar version. I thought I'd like the banjo version, with it's naturally staccato notes, but now I'm not so sure. But maybe a different banjo version would sound better, I dunno. Guitar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inBKFMB-yPg Piano - apparently it was originally composed for piano https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-P8BQVhOv5A And even banjo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0VCi9WRlkw History https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asturias_(Leyenda)

Hey Reuben
I thought those were great I liked the guitar the best If the piano guy could fix bikes as fast as he plays a piano he might have a job if the piano thing doesn't work out for him BTW I always thought Tubular Bells sounded very similar to Asturias |

Lately I've had Rush's "Digital Man" stuck in my head. Here's a cool version from the Signals tour:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBEuUDrY-mo p.s., every time this thread comes up and I see it, ELO's "Can't Get It Out Of My Head" immediately comes to mind. Am I the only one? |

Lemon Bucket Orkestra [sic], Toronto's guerilla punk balkan folk brass band.
I saw them a couple of years ago at the great Festival Internationale in Lafayette, Louisiana, USA. Lotsa fun, and given half the chance, they'll take off out into the audience. Stick with it, it'll get there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cif5kSpDk4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP-Iff32EHQ

That other guy ain't bad either, playing slide on the Gibson SG. It sounds like he's been playing that song his whole life. Some say Derek Trucks has a bright future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbOlgESKbIc Last edited by 9tubes; 10-21-2021 at 08:09 PM. |
