Avid BB7s road for my winter bike. It's just a junker bike but I wanted to upgrade from the BB5's after the inner pad seized this past winter.
Now I have to lie to myself and say I'll clean the BB7's more often but I know I won't.

Nothing fancy. Some r8000 shifty bits, thanks bikser for the STI's. Time to upgrade the '98 Atlanta which has had 6700 forever and now deserves some 11 speed goodness. Need to decide on some wheels.

Well done!

Look forward to seeing the full-on rando setup and pictures.

Could say I told ya so but don't remember if I ever did. Yeah it's a great bike. It also loves to be pointed downhill and show you how fast it can go.

You are/were right. Should have bought it from you a long time ago - but all of this worked itself out.. Looking forward to doing a dirt century on it on Sunday.

I do really like the Centaur group too. It's crisp and easy to shift.

I think the white of the frame would look best with black components though.

People always say the new centaur and potenza silver looks bad but that bike is proving the opposite. I really like the way that crank looks on there. Needs that front rack

This new Zanconato showed up a couple weeks back to complement my first Zanconato. Still waiting to build it up and I'm not quite sure what to build it up with. It's drilled for Di2 and I guess the only decision will be Ultegra or Dura Ace. I'd prefer the more premium aesthetic of Dura Ace but the Ultegra is available with a long-cage rear derailleur and can be used with up to a 34-tooth cassette. Additionally, Ultegra can be gotten with a clutch rear derailleur.

Probably I'll just go Ultegra to keep a groupset intact.

Also deciding on wheels. Not sure if I should get Next or Nox or Boyds. Likely getting carbon in any case but I'm open to aluminum suggestions with a wide internal width.

For now it sits in my living room. Unless I'm mistaken the steerer tube might need to be trimmed slightly.

Very nice Zanc! I'm tossing around similar groupset questions for an incoming Spectrum - either mechanical 9100 from another bike or switch out shifters etc. for Di2 - thinking dura ace but Ultegra rear derailleur for greater versatility (or maybe picked up a used one for times when a 34 capacity would be handy).

Those two frames look to be quite different sizes, both built for the same person or one purchased second hand?

Appearances can be deceiving. They're nearly the same. The green one is made for much larger tires, changing the appearance. I'm going to trust Mike on this. I haven't yet built it up obviously, but I'm guessing it will be pretty close to the blue one though slightly more relaxed. The top tube is a bit shorter to make up for the longer reach of the hydraulic brake levers.

We'll see how it turns out. I had similar concerns when I bought my Independent Fabrication but it turned out just fine in terms of contact points.
