He's in Burlington mid-week, then playing Saturday night June 16th at Hunter. I registered for my A race way back in November, and of course it's in Massachusetts on June 16th..........ugh!

By my username, you can probably tell I'm a fan of Exile on Main Street. It might be an acquired taste compared to Let It Bleed and Sticky Fingers, but I always loved the sprawling, primal, rock and roll and the "let's go stay in a farmhouse for a summer with a bunch of drugs and record an album" feel of it. |

I owned that album shortly after it was released (1972) but I only just recently -- like, a week ago -- learned that it was recorded in 1969, during the sessions for the Stones' Let It Bleed album...ostensibly while waiting for Keith to show up.
Lately I've been listening to a lot of this Swiss instrumental band Sonar who I've described elsewhere as being the intersection set between Don Caballero and 1980s-era King Crimson, with a little Steve Reich thrown in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ckh0aGhHoo |

And one of the best quotes I’ve read from an Americana/Outlaw Country artist: “I think that the truth needs to be out there, and the other thing that is really important to me is having a very diverse audience. This genre of music attracts a certain kind of person sometimes who is very close-minded and I want to tell those people, 'Look, you're welcome to be a fan. But full disclosure, I'm a ****ing civil rights activist, and I'm a bisexual, and I'm an atheist, and I'm a vegan,' you know what I mean? That's a whole lot of non-redneck **** right there." https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...sarmers-93980/ |

I generally like a lot of 70s and 80s punk rock, so not much of a metalhead, but this new King Gizzard album PetroDragonic Apocalypse is so good. Even better than Infest the Rats Nest, which was a solid album.
