Know your current needs.
Know your risk tolerance.
Yes, I sound like a broken record but that’s all it is.

If you get emotional over money, the Market probably isn't the place for you to park your money.

I did similar, sold some gainers in my Roth, and bought beaten down stuff. They have since been beaten even further down, but I have 9 years min. before I draw on that account. So, I may do Roth contribution (haven't done my 2019 yet) to double down on the same or pick other beaten down ones. Were you concerned about XOM's debt level relative to other big oil? BA is on my list but planned to wait another earnings report. I bought CCL, hoping it doesn't do an Enron on me.

I bought XOM first because oil will be the first thing to rebound. XOM vs. CVX vs. Others were considered but I landed on XOM for the higher dividend yield and higher downstream revenue.

I bought BA second because it was on my radar for a while and airplanes aren't going anywhere.

I bought CCL last, because I too hope it doesn't Enron on me, and for that reason it was my smallest purchase of the day.

other thing i added was GILD, short-term on potential COVID19 treatment, and, if not, it should still do ok long term. I couldn't decide on an oil company so did the XLE energy sector ETF. My dividend pick was VTR, a REIT and it has TANKED since i bought it, but hoping 9 years from now it is up

And the airlines.
I think the Banks may be ok as they are well capitalized since 2008 (but who the hell knows — so much is unknown)

Yeah airlines too. But i feel like once there is an "all clear" people will be quicker to jump back on a plane(mostly business), while mostly all cruises are "nice to haves" and the recent horror stories will leave a bad taste in peoples mouths for a long, long time..

instead of investing in carnival cruise lines, id save the money and plan a nice cruise(refundable ticket) as i think prices are going to tank, like the airlines.

We went from worrying about having enough milk and bread to worrying about having something to clean up from drinking milk and eating too much bread!

Your resume was three ply, you should get a clean pass, you're on a roll. That's all I got, Ha!
