Gazos Creek Road, end of the pavement. Takes you up into Big Basin State Park on dirt. Lots of great loops around there if you have the legs.

That's funny and I've been thinking of getting a C59 or C60

I have been thinking really hard about a Stigmata lately... Still not sure about disc brakes though; any issues with them during your ride? It would drive me crazy if the pads rubbed the rotors every time I got out of the saddle.

It's almost a toss up between the two. The C59 is more aesthetically balanced; the C60 has the more planted front end. The C59 feels lighter on the climbs; the C60 feels thoroughly modern in handling and power transfer. The C59 rides like a Colnago; the C60 rides like a C59 on natural supplements. In the end, the C59 is closer to the C40 and the C40 has the most personality of any carbon bike I've ridden.

The rotors do rub under power. I think overall there's a lot of deflection allowed in the system; the bike just doesn't feel punishingly stiff. In fact, it rides as plush (to my senses) as my Cielo Sportif Classic without the extra weight drag. More importantly (for a lazy guy like me), the geometry is almost 100% road; the thing feels better on pavement than dirt (and it behaves as it should on the rough stuff). I dig it a lot.

On an unusually nice day, it seemed just the right thing to do to grab something vintage for an afternoon ride....At the time I didn't realize that I risked offending the entire industry by somehow completeing the 50 +/- miles at hand without the benefit of disc brakes, electronic shifting, tubeless tires, SRAM anything, Rapha anything, indexed shifting, integrated shift levers, a computer, and probably a few others.
