I gave up the sport bike bug a while back but just picked up a Zuma 125 for local trips. Currently rigging up a rack system to carry a bicycle on it. Pics when it is finished.

Well you have to take into account that I am big fatso so about 55 indicated with no tuning. I need to adjust the roller weights to get a bit more low end. Typical trips would be in the 30-50 mile range. No highway on his scooter but the S-max 150 is highway capable. You are fairly local to me so come over and try it out then we can ride some bikes after.

Couldnt imagine riding the smax on the highways around the city. Tops out in the 70s means getting buzzed by cars the entire time.
I thought my vstrom 650 was barely adequate since it was in high rpms at highway/interstate speeds.

Never had a four-stroke bike when I was young, my first bike was a Yamaha 60 JT1 mini with rotary valve two-stroke and 4-speed good for about 45mph.
Had dirt bikes, an SC500 yamaha two-stroke, an Elsinore 250 and a Can-Am Mx5 250, all had suspension mods and were ridden/raced in upstate NY in the later 1970's. I had the RD400 bug for a few years, then briefly had a 1984 Ninja 900 before selling it to build a race bike (shown below). I ran three seasons of IHRA/NMRA AMA/ProStar Super Gas on the 790cc H2 and in 1989 earned a #4 plate with AMA/ProStar for 1990. I then moved back to SoCal and did some riding on an XL500, a 1979 KDX250, a TS400 and a modded TS250 that could do hold it's own on a motocross track. I moved to silly valley and later bought a couple of Harley Sportsters at Depression-era (2010) mid-winter prices, then sold those to buy a house. I've got my old RD400, the TS250 and a fast V-Max project bike in the garage these days alongside a bored-out CB160 that I am tending to for a friend. I don't ride motorcycles often these days, takes too much time away from bicycle riding and other projects like the Town Car I am trying to flip.
