Had a friend go through a similarly challenging recovery from a TBI as a result of a bike accident. My heart goes out to Keith’s family and friends.

just crawled out of the cave I've apparently been living in to learn about this horrible news. Thoughts and prayers, Keith and glad you are still here!

Went past the 17K goal this morning. Best of luck to Keith and his family. The eyesight problem is terrifying to me. I’m watching for news that is improving.

Not to play Web MD: And I hope this is the case with vision. Wife works in surgery for 25 years. If you get a orbital fracture where the eye muscles tendons are planted, it may require a surgery once the bone is heals to loosen of tighten tendon to get eye back in range. But this is arm chair quarterbacking at best.

I come in this thread and check for update, and on GFM page, each another thought/prayer.

When he gets home and we get updates I'll donate again to what ever mechanism if help will still be needed certainly.

My heart hurts for how this obliterated this family's x-mas.

Update

I just got off the phone with Keith (his wife dialed for him)

He wanted me to let you all know how blown away he is by all the support and especially the GoFundMe effort. He is unsure how long he will be out of work but is pretty sure he will run out of resources there so the GoFundMe is going to be very helpful.

He is in a rehab hospital in Jacksonville and progress is slow but he IS making progress

So thanks again to this amazing community

I also talked with Keith briefly this morning. He wanted to let everyone know he's alive and thankful for all of the support. He even mentioned he was going to try and log on this weekend to approve new members to the forum, even though I urged him to take it easy and slow.

On a personal note: thank you all for the outpouring of support. We are a good community here.

Very tough to do. After my ‘15 crash and minor skull fracture/concussion, I was advised to do the same.

But did I? Since I’m in health care, you’d think I’d listen to this sort of advice…

Keep hitting the GFM as you can. Medical $ and being out of work add up fast.

Sending healing vibes to Keith and patience to the family.
