It's not quite Friday, but I feel like cranking it up.

Neil Young, his electric/feedback/effects persona on full display.

I saw him on this Le Noise tour. It was a sonic tour de force. One man, three guitars, two organs, one piano, and one cigar store Indian. No other musicians, just a few pedals. Yeah, he's an old folk guitarist, but he can also rip the ass out of a song when he wants to.

If you like this sort of thing, and are in the mood, it's one to crank up to 11.

It's a good song. First time I heard it was in the 60's movie Blow Up, which was also a good version.

Boubacar Traoré - Hona

"From his new album "M'Balimaou" (Brothers), the splendid blues "Hona" - a collection of images taken in Bamako while Boubacar was recording the album together with Vincent Bûcher (harmonica, here on this song), and Ballaké Sissoko or Christian Mousset (both producing the album and appearing in the video)."

Found myself listening to one, then many Doobie Brothers classics this AM. How have I gone my whole life without zeroing in on Tiran Porter's bass lines? Goodness gracious.

This forum desperately, desperately, desperately needs a like button.

On Saturday's ride I couldn't get Frank Zappa's "Village Of The Sun" out of my head.

That is great, but this version is much earlier (I believe 1946): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYXSq6N9pJU.
