We did almost all of the fingers today.

Deer Trail is brutal.

We had more unseasonably warm and sunny weather here in SE Michigan this past weekend. We also have lots of dirt roads, a large network of rail trails, and plenty of wetland. Here's a few pics from a rail trail segment of yesterday's ride.

did a 129 mile ride last week where we got lost in upstate New York and ran out of daylight climbing this ridiculously steep double digit gravel road in the dark.

then couple days later we got to ride on a car free west side highway

First cold ride of the season. Went down to 5 degrees, so not yet freezing. That starts in December.

It's mostly all evening riding for me from October to April. Evenings are nice because the traffic's lighter and it's eerily pleasant when the moon is bright and the sky is cloudless. Just gotta watch out for critters. You know why the chicken crossed the road? To show the raccoon how it's done.

Stupid raccoons.

Some really great rides! Thanks for sharing. Trying to shake off a cold so I can get out myself.

Nothing too pretty. Went out for my first ride with the frame pump. Lo and behold. Flatted my front tire! Needless to say I am so impressed with how fast the hpx got me back on the road. Viva la Zefal!

Armadillo Classic Oct.28, 2017

The Armadillo Classic is the annual fund raising event hosted by the local bike advocacy group called Bike Austin. This year we had a pretty low turnout compared to prior years maybe because of the unusually cold weather. A cold front came in the night before and dropped down to 35 degrees at the start time 8:00 AM. I was undecided whether I want to go up until the last minute. In the end, it turned out to be a great ride, so I am glad I did.

These were screen grabs from the video:
