Just got this package in the mail today. Tried them on and they fit perfectly! They should since they are custom.

Can't wait to try them on the bike next week. Weather and Easter activities this weekend are making me wait till then.

There's a 56 Colorado that was in the classifieds that's on it's way to me! I've wanted one since building up the first one that hit the shop I worked at in the mid/late 80's.

With that coming it'll be time to send something down the road.

Finally got me a smart trainer. Elite Direto setup and I finally got my first ride in ERG mode (Trainneroad) this morning. Will take some getting used to coming from a Cycleops Fluid2.

Anybody in the market Backcountry has a 20% coupon deal going on works on most trainers like Elite, Cycleops and Tacx (except Wahoo Kickr's though). Plus if you use Active Junky you'll get a 8% rebate on your final price out the door to Backcountry. Will work on other items too btw. Plus totally free 2-day shipping (no oversize charges). I ordered mine Thursday night and received it Tuesday.

Anybody willing to use Active Junky PM me so I can give you a referral link (we both get $10 I believe if you make sign up a new account through my link and make a purchase).

That’s how/where I got my Hammer.

Good call on picking it up and starting TrainerRoad - great guys and killer workouts/plans if you work them right.

SUPER curious about these...were you able to try the brand on before you ordered, or how did it work? I'm super interested in a set of these, but I'm really wary of ordering shoes without being able to try them on...

I've actually been on Trainerroad since just after Thanksgiving. Already finished the sweet spot base I & II. Currently on week 6 of the general build plan (low volume because my sit bones can't take much more than 1.5 hour trainer rides...still trying to find that right saddle). I haven't seen those dramatic ftp jumps like some report but it is solid 5% per base session ftp increase and a 3.5% increase midway through the general build.

But, I'm no newb to the ftp test either prior to starting trainneroad so knew how to pace myself for that. Last few years I saw no improvements riding around on my own due to inconsistent volume (due to life) and no actual structure for the time I do have to ride. Figured I'd get it done right this year and finally set some new PR's for my local TT series (short 10 milers). Maybe if I'm brave enough finally go for a 40k TT.

Got a new Lid today. collaboration by "Sweet protection" and Pas Normal Studios Falconer Aero helmet. Pretty comfortable from first impressions! The aero inserts are pretty slick and are easy to use as they are held in place with magnets. Very excited to get out and give it a real test!

Your most recent cycling related purchase

A couple things.

Just placed an order with Mack for some track hubs I'll rebuild into some Zipp 404 tubular rims. Slotted for big beefy blades, custom colorway that should be reminiscent of the Miami Heat Vice alternate uniforms. Light blue anodized hub shells with white, pink and baby blue striping. Can't wait.

Also that White Ind. Daisy hub I grabbed off a fellow forumite here and rebuilt it to some big fat union bladed ti spokes I grabbed off the internets for cheap. Built it to an Archetype I had hanging on the wall. Love the look of the wheel.

Figured this would be a simple catch n release to get it into good hands, but it’s close enough size-wise for me that I’m going to ride it a bit first...

It’s a dang near NOS 585 Ultra in XL with barely a scratch or chip on it.

And a possible unexpected bonus: the Ksyrium SE Heliums are Shimano 10spd by way of an IRD conversion cassette on a Campy FH (I think). Bearings are butter.

EDIT: nope, just an IRD cassette on a titanium 11spd Shimano FH...that’ll work

7800 stuff is minty too.

And the Stronglight Pulsions should make a weight-weenie happy - they look new too.

If I decide to keep it, it’ll get Chorus 11, Compact bars, and a couple other tweaks.

Fun stuff.
