That's the "pro" way to pin a number on. I see a lot of that with the guys-that-take-cross-seriously.

I took third in the 3's today. 90 degrees at the start with rain and mud. Got to love CX in FL.

Speaking of mud, there definitely was some, or at least some slick hairpins today. Imo, the second day was better than the first because of that. Of course, yesterday about 15 people DNFed in the men's 4/5 race, and today 38 DNFed. Same size total field.
I felt awesome Saturday and got 50th in the Cs, but Sunday for some reason on the slick course I was all nerves and heh as if willing something to go wrong rolled my rear tire on the second lap just when I was gunning to pass my last Philly friend who finished 48th. Pumped it up hard in the pit and finished, but second to last.

The Bs though... man I am not a B. I borrowed a rear wheel and the course was completely different 4 hours later, super tacky and fast. I felt like I was hanging on and passed some dudes, but I got lapped in the second half of the (leaders') last lap and finished second to last. I am totally destroyed today - no booze and I feel like I have a hangover.

Somehow I'm impressed with myself finishing in the same place and lapped in two different races.

And that 12 year old kid in the b race who, to the official was like, "hey man, this is my race, what are you talking about?" That was kind of amazing but hoo.

Town Hall Cross and Iron Cross

... are this weekend.

Doing the Cs at Town Hall and maybe the SS, depending on when my ride for Iron Cross leaves.

I'm totally intimidated by Iron Cross. Never done an ultracross or a marathon mtb thing, though Battenkill didn't kill me.

I'll be bringing a helicopter sag wagon that I hopefully won't need.
