OK, I know its not Tuesday but saw this and could not resist. If Old spud is in bed then the rest of you have a chance. For your consideration:

Nice! It's an ever fulfilling, creative, frustrating and rewarding venture whether you do it for yourself or others.

What are the two encircled tools, seems like a lot of the tools you carry can be found in one multi tool?

The purple thing is a Dynaplug Racer tubeless tire plug tool. http://www.dynaplug.com/racer.html The thingy that looks like a .45 ACP cartridge is a Topeak Nano 5nm inline torque limiting pod. https://www.topeak.com/global/en/pro...no-torqbox-5nm |

Yea, I actually carry (and use) all that most of the time. I guess you don't ride offroad much? Or maybe it's difficult to determine the size and scale in the photos? The longest item is about 4" long. The whole package is more compact than a mtb tube and comfortably fits in a jersey-pocket-friendly snack-size ziplock baggie. Most bike multitools with chain tools are 150-200g. The tool items in the first photo total 255g... a bit more for much more functionality. The spares pile is an additional 80g... total 335g. - tire plug tool 3.75" / 20g - I have a tire slashing habit - Leatherman 2"-ish / 55g - lightest/smallest with pliers, scissors, knife - Topeak torque thing 1.5" / 26g My bikepacking kit adds more items... gloves, lube, rag, cable, brake pads, Kevlar thread, straps, and sometimes a spare tire. |
