Y'all very welcome!

I felt very fortunate to be able to pull this off last minute as this trip came about as a complete spur of the moment thing.

I bought my plane ticket less than a month prior to departure. I was dreaming and playing with the different destinations/date ranges on Google flights one day and "$500+ to Paris" popped up, I was like what??! 500 bucks to fly to France, I am in!!

I quickly scrambled to find cheap hotels, plot out a route, come up with a schedule, reserve train tickets online, notify whoever, inform my relatives in Paris I am coming ... all within a couple of days.

Not the most organized way to plan a trip but it worked!

I did not set any expectations just went in with a sense of adventure and made the best of everything that came along. It turned out to be a very memorable trip.

And all the help and good advice I have been getting on this thread, pals who have reached out to me personally, I so appreciate and very grateful.

Now, I am hooked and plotting my next destination/adventure to Europe again... any suggestions or tips are welcome

Plus I really lucked out on the weather. Out of the 9 days I was there, 8 of which we have got blue sunny sky, 60 degrees, only the last day before I left that it started to rain.

October is always a cheap time of the year to fly either to Europe or Asia from the US.

Scotland means you should ride in early June. In October, you can get 10 days of rain in a week.......

You might want to try Land's End to John O'Groats.... but not the off road version....

So is there a route for the "on-road" version somewhere?

That looks like a grail ride to me. Not sure if I could do it quickly, but that just looks stunning.

Guy and Tom are both super strong. Guy said it was very hard. I know our relative strengths and I would need significantly more days. They did in two weeks. Iā€™d need 3 weeks + maybe an extra day

Thank y'all for bringing this to my attention.

To be completely honest, I don't think i am ready for something like this:

I love ice cream too much. When I was in Paris and also in Annecy, I need my fix almost every morning.
