In the second half, the three lions looked cowardly.

Repeat of that performance vs Italy.

I know the general rule is to play it safe in int'l tournaments, but the lack of attacking intent unduly puts a team on the back heels, in particular for a team whose back line is slightly wobbly.

On another note, I hate how I can't watch all of the games online. Sling has FS1, but not the local Fox channel...

First matches at big tournaments can be very misleading regarding the performance in the rest of the tournament. And we have yet to see France and Austria.
So far, Germany -favoured by getting to play maybe the weakest team- looked decent. Considering the big Rucksack of having all those former titles, having bottled the last few tournaments and facing the strange mixture of gigantic expectations mixed with destructive pessimism in the public perception, the lads did pretty well. But if there is a team that left a mark, it is Spain. They look terrifying.

On the plus side, McGuire is not contributing to the opponent's offense.

DeBruyne is a magnificent club player, but is also a complete washout as an international. Perhaps Belgium will reprise Argentina's performance in the 2022 World Cup (lost to Saudi Arabia in the first match, then won the tournament), but I don't see it happening.

They try to be back home in time to cheer on Remco Evenepoel

And France didn't look very convincing either.

A knock on the head, a bloody (broken?) nose, and three points.

As I am watching Czechia - Portugal, I wondered who is dirtier -- Pepe or Sergio Ramos. It's a close one.

Those two + CR7 made for quite the unlikeable team

Personally, i think Ramos got away with more.

Pepe. His is 100% intentional.
Ramos is dirty as a by-product of clumsy.

I know this sounds harsh, but I am still waiting for the day this POS finds his match.
Just google "Pepe fouls," and you'll know why.

Fair enough, but who can forget Ramos's foul on Salah, which pretty much decided the 2018 CL final.
