dude, this year has been brutal weather wise. we aren't used to so much cloud and lack of sun down here in So Oregon! also, my strawberries are 2 weeks later than last year, bummer.

Hopefully you'll be repaid with a less-intense fire season - although my sources (I work in the energy biz and we put a lot into weather forecasting) are all saying above-normal temps this summer..

I had kinda assumed given the insane weather we would have a hot summer. i think fires ill still be down due to moisture in the mountains, but im not looking forward to a hot irrigation season.

today as niceish, still windy, but not raining much. finally found my legs today after they went missing for the week. Im forcing Hank the Zank into submission this week. like breaking a horse or something. I have been tinkering with its fit because after measuring contact points its nearly identical to my other bikes other than BB drop. amazing what a new set of bars can do for a bike! moved the addle forward a smidge with new bars and the ride is transformed! much more comfy now that my hand positions make sense.

nice ride to the coffee shop and home

Did my first solo almost-century of the year...got turned around by snow at the top of Larch Mountain and avoided viscous headwinds on Marine Drive on the way back by scooting through the city, so I came up just a little shy...

94mi, 6,500ft., 5:45 moving time.

I broke a cardinal rule and put a new saddle on right before the ride - it was perfect! Toupe 155 Carbon bought off a fellow Paceliner. Zero hotspots, great sit-bone support...I'm in love. Now I just need 3 more to come up like-new in the classifieds for a smokin' deal like this one!

And yes, I have another bike I haven't talked about here...SRAM! Carbon! The Horror! It's a funny story actually - I'll get around to telling it at some point. For now, let's just say as much as I love steel, riding a stiff-as-he|| <15lb race bike w standard gearing and light wheels is pretty dang fun too! Did I mention I love bikes?

You can see the stubborn snow on the hills. Spring comes slowly some years. (They've actually closed the canyon becomes the spring runoff is so high this year. Great for the water supply, lousy for cyclists.)

I did that same ride from my house in SE about this time last year. Didn't have to turn around due to snow, what a crazy winter here in the northwest. Best ski season in my lifetime!
