Those are the Tectro medium reach brakes, and the downhill stopping is fine. Not, as grabby as mini-V but great modulation. Like I said, when I get a custom one it will have disc brakes and will take huge tires (40+) with the option for a bigger 650B. But for what it is, a very stable road bike that can take 32 (maybe 35) this bike is perfect as built.
If anyone has a used set of the Paul center mount Racer Medium brakes, I'm interested in upgrading, not because I figure it will work better, but they look great.

I'm PMing you to discuss something, but really, does it look too small? Top tube is a bit shorter than my road bike, but seems within the given range for a CX frames. How do folks generally size their gravel bikes? I don't see many gravel bikes with a 60cm top tube. I guess I really do need a custom.

Moots
Both my MTB's are 1x11 I like the simplicity lower gearing for our mountains.
Currently 2x10 compact crank 12-30 cassette May stay with 2x10 and use a MTB rear derailleur with 12-36 cassette |

Seven Evergreen prototype #1
Following a recent conversation with @sparky33, I thought I should post an updated photo of my well-used steed, which made an appearance much earlier in this thread. It was prototype #1 of Seven's Evergreen model and, given that they hadn't come up with the name at that point, it proclaims itself to be an Axiom. What's in a name?
It's wearing 650B x 48 Switchback Hills in this photo, which I've nicknamed The Irresponsibles, because they encourage you to do things you probably shouldn't! -- John |

Who here rides their gravel bike on the road a ton too?
Mine's coming this weekend and it started out as a CX bike, then we relaxed the CS just a hair to take up to 42mm wheels (to match the fork) and slightly relaxed the geo. Ill definitely be racing it in cross, but also doing some of our gravel grinder events, I actually think if I like it, it'll see more road time than anything else frankly. |
