Colnago Steelnovo

So good, but what type of steel for $18k+?

Aesthetically incredible. The panto work is perfect.

I think it is not XCR as it looks fully painted.

My guess is Columbus Spirit HSS. Don't drop this bike!

Kinda looks like a Prova. Almost costs as much as one, too. The welds are not "invisible" - they are likely sanded down and then painted over. It is interesting to see a "big" brand like this adopting this construction technique from some of the custom builders.

Wow, that's clean. I might just play ball if it was rim brake, mech shifting, frameset only.

Very nice frameset as it stands though; how it's currently set up is not my jam.

Oh...oh my...that's one of the most beautiful looking bikes I've seen in a long time. Let me go back and look at that again...I've been saving for a TCR SL while waiting for Giant to make a UDH compatible version, but this...this might change that.

Edit: On second thought, I can't afford it, even if it's worth it. I'll wait for Ryun to sell his and hope that he sized down a bit when making the purchase.

Looks like a used Toyota Corolla with less than 50K miles on it. That can be ridden in 365 days a year.

I guess I just don't see it.. it looks utterly plain to me..I mean, I'd give it a Camry vice a Corolla, but.. put this up next to the Peg in the classifieds and how can it even be a discussion.. put this up next to a Richard Sachs or a David Kirk and how can it even be a discussion.. admittedly, for me, it's mostly about the aesthetics, but still.. and I can't imagine it would ride any better than any of the three I've mentioned..

to each their own for sure, but this just looks like plain vanilla ice cream.. probably really good, but just.. there..

I think the shape is beautiful, very 'pure bike essence' like many steel bikes, but so clean and streamlined that it might be George Jetson's take on a steel bike.

I just can't stop reading the name as Steelvio. Which is a real missed opportunity on Colnago's part.

The GCN YouTube video linked above dives into the details about how this bike is made. If you haven't seen how 3D printing works, they dive into that aspect of the process and it is worth a watch.

I am curious. Have you owned a Sachs or a Kirk? Or a Colnago?

The bike seems fine to me, and I'd happily accept it as a gift, but doesn't really wow me, and would be somewhat anonymous if I saw it at a bike show.
