I would worry less about the hardware and more about the lapse in any App/Software support - that would almost immediately kill the usefulness of the groupset. Look what happened to the Van Moof bike owners when the company originally folded...
I do like the backward adjustability to any modern cassette... why can't SRAM do that! |

Has anyone here tried this yet. I've been looking to go AXS on my rim brake bike, but I remembered that the Wheeltop existed.

Reviews seem to be pretty good. Gotta follow the directions to set up instead of winging it. There's a few sellers on ali priced at around 570 with shipping. Not bad. Ive been very close numerous times to buying but just can't muster up the courage to try it yet.

The Wheeltop cranks I looked at on their website seem really cheap. Rotor also make 11, 12 and 13-spd cassettes, whereas it looks like Wheeltop only offers one 11-spd MTB cassette.

I picked up a used Wheeltop EDS TX shift group a few weeks ago and finally got it on with a Prestacycle/EDCO Monoblock 12spd Campy cassette and a Chorus 12 chain. All in, I'm at 525 with a new cassette and chain. This will be a really good experinent to see if this will work since the Prestacycle cassettes are known to be pretty sloppy shifting.
I have not done an actual ride yet but based off the driveway putting around, it seems great. The initial setup is not even close to being a slap it on and go deal. It took me at least a half hour adjusting all gears to get it respectable. In the same breath I'd also like to mention that while it sucks to set up gear by gear, the silver lining is that I'm never restricted to a set gear spacing. I can change it and tune it to make each shift percect. The shifter clamp bolt is on the outside of the shifter and super easy to get into. I love this touch coming from Campagnolo. The hoods feal great and the shifting does appear to be good. Hoping to ride it a bunch this coming week, will report back. |

Elevate cycling
Initial 40 mile ride is pretty good. Needs more tweaking in the rear. Front shift from small to big ring is slow. I will have to see what I can do about that. Pretty pleased with it so far. Hoods feel great. |
