The Cure's new album, Songs of a Lost World, is so good.

My neo-soul/funk cover band has been working on this tune, so of course now it's totally stuck in my head!
George Benson, "Give Me The Night" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Omnpu8mzX4c We've also been referencing these two versions of that same tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FpkRj8ESs0 https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SEvD50LN6rY |

The Letter
1970. Back when you could be a young, crazy, drug-addled, composer, and musician, all at once. Joe Cocker. Looks like Leon Russell on the keyboard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUmXscq9p_s [I Just Wanna] Celebrate Around the same time period. Back when your drummer could be your lead singer, and just go wandering around stage pounding whatever he could find with a handful of drumsticks in his own impromptu jam with the other drummer (!) and the rest of the band. hhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tulDN0-L4tc Looking back on it now, maybe it was the drugs. Maybe it was the birth of rock and roll. Maybe it was Vietnam, civil rights - a time of upheaval in America. Surely some of it was the creative energy of youth, but every generation and genre can lay claim to that. The clothes, the hair... On a completely different axis of the multidimensional musical dimensions - Emmylou https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3hXLlOZpbA

The Cure
I'm just an old guy that liked some of their hits.
I'm also someone who prefers a live performance video. In this case I think my preference would be listening to the polished vinyl without the visual accompaniment. Here is proof. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=the+cure+s...%3Dqn9uGmLlSRU |
