I'm 74 years old and ride 10K miles a year in Flat southwest Florida. I have ridden nothing but a recumbent for several years now because of neck problems on a regular bicycle. I have no neck, seat, hand, or any other issues on the recumbent.

For extending the lifespan of current bikes, recommend checking out Specialized Hover handlebars, the non-flare version. Gives you 15mm extra rise without any changes to stem or number of spacers under the stem. I really like them. Comfy too.
