Camelback Podium Chill smell

Brand new bottle I bought off Amazon.
Has a strong off putting smell.
Not plastic, sort of perfumey.
Maybe it was used with a sports drink and returned.
Washing with dish soap has not helped.
Is this normal?

Not normal. I'd try two drops of Blue Dawn, a couple ounces of white vinegar (6% if you have it) and about a TB of coarse salt in it and shake vigorously. And again. Then top it off with water and leave it overnight.

Don't use the new formula Dawn. It leaves a distinctive soapy taste in my Camelbak Podium bottles. I had to switch dish soap for the first time in ages because of this.

Yes, I intended original blue Dawn specifically.
