Wahoo kickr 2016 - need a thru axle adapter
Decided to use my wahoo kickr again which has been sitting in storage. My current bikes are thru axle and it only takes a skewer for now. I saw one possible adaptor online Roberts axle project but wanted to know if it’s worth it and if there are others. Thanks for any input.

Can't you just find the 2014-16 Wahoo axle spacer kit and use your current thru-axle?
Just thinking out loud here... |

The wahoo thru axle adapter.
The "hub axle" on the older Kickr is only sized for a QR skewer. So the adapter is 2 fittings that go on the frame to capture the dropouts with a longer QR skewer through them. |

If you Google 'thru axle adapter for trainers" there are a number of things that can help you

Yeah, and those are all for the wheel-on trainers (like a kurt kinetic or wahoo snap) that clamp a traditional QR skewer.

They're not... it is two aluminum pieces with two bolts that thread right into your thru axles. The aluminum pieces stick out far enough to clamp the trainer on to then BAAAAM you're ready to go

You realize that wont work on a wheel-off trainer like the kickr right

I will reach out to them when they are open for business again this week. I tried chatting am with an AI robot online and that not surprisingly went nowhere. I have a thread going on slowtwitch as well and there’s now a question whether it will accept a sram 12 speed driver. I will probably use it mostly in erg mode anyways to tightly control my efforts but still this is super frustrating!

And I dont *think* they ever made a 12-speed freehub for these - not that one couldnt be found I dont think, its likely shared from something like a Bitex or Novatec hub. Anyways I'm sending one in the mail to the OP, so everyone save your spares and oddball parts because someone will need them someday. |

If the cassette shared with something, it's only the base part. There are 2 plain bearings inside, no bike hub has that.
I went and looked, and they don't even have the adapter on their website at this time. I probably have one, no idea where. |
