Anything and everything by Cigarettes After Sex.
(Get past the name, their entire catalogue is brilliantly melancholy chill). |

This morning it's Big Jack Johnson (guitar) with his Jelly Roll Kings, Frank Frost (harmonica) and Sam Carr (drums). Sadly, they're all dead now - first Frank, then Sam, then Jack. I brought Jack up here twice to do a couple of shows, and visited him at his home in Clarksdale MS. We had some good times.
I'm A Big Boy Now - turn it up, loud, electric. This was a closer. Might follow it up with Cherry Tree - acoustic, mandolin, and a bit risque if you're at work.

Band is called Mannequin Pussy. Saw em a few weeks ago and it was amazing! I have rinsing out this album for a couple of months now. The sound, lyrics, mixture of aggression and softness, meanwhile incorporating an awesome women’s POV is just a melting pot of perfection imo. So good! |

Fortunately that song was wrong 57 years ago. Those melting down right now can draw strength that we didn't self destruct then and aren't going to self destruct now. At least I hope, LOL! |
