Trek Domane late rim brake tire clearance
Wondering if the carbon late version rim brake versions, which have direct mount brakes, will fit a RH 32mm tire? I'd be on a 60 if that matters and I wonder if the different layup versions have different clearances?
Thanks

Literature says 28c w/4mm of clearance if that helps any.

People have done it but it's getting lucky with tire/rim combo so I wouldn't count on it.
The answer is maybe. |

I have a 2016 5-series frame. I think it was the last year of rim brakes.
I have 28s on mine and there is plenty of room. I think 30s might be ok but 32s seem iffy. |

Another friend also a user here DFCAS said this in a thread. "My Stampede Pass extralights on Velocity A23 rims measure 31.2mm" Mine are a bit wider rims and a tad bigger than that.

How much clearance do you have running 32s, like it actually feels safe if you ride down dirt or gravel? Not that I seek that out but the Domane has always felt pretty good on dirt roads when they ended up on the route.
The underside of my fork is a bit scratched up and I've ran 26s most of the time I've had my bike, I only went to the 28s this year. There weren't nearly so many fast large size tires back when I got it but I certainly wish I had tried the 28s earlier. |
