12 speed compatibility question

Has anyone tried a shimano 12 speed cassette and chain (2 x 12) with a SRAM 12 speed (2x 12) drivetrain? Curious about the compatibility. Thanks in advance for the advice

I've done this with 1 x 12, on Eagle AXS (not Transmission). It works OK, shifts OK, though it shifted worse than either an all-Shimano or all-SRAM system.

The main thing about making this work is that you can't mix anything that involves the chain - so a Shimano (or officially Shimano-compatible) chainring is required for the scenario you describe. Even then, there are still slight incompatibilities with the derailleur pulleys that result in less than perfect function, but it does work.

Edit: It does occur to me also that my data points are for 1x systems which use NW chainrings. There may be more forgiveness on 2 x 12 systems which do not.

I had problems with a Shimano 12 chain with my SRAM AXS cassette, but no problems with Shimano 2x cranks and my SRAM chain and cassette. Most claim that the Shimano cassette works reasonably well with an otherwise SRAM drivetrain.

I'm running AXS FD/RD with an aliexpress HG cassette & Stone chainrings.

Front shifting is flawless. Rear shifting is slower and I recently switched chainrings/cassette/chain so I'm still fine tuning the rear shift.

It works, but it's not perfect. Depends on your tolerance for the occasional hesitant shift.
