GRX Freestroke Adjustment
I have a GRX 11 speed 2x set up on my gravel bike and want to adjust the freestroke (NOT reach). I have the Shimano tech docs and have gone over them a couple times. Based on the docs, the pic below should be the freestroke adjustment screw but it doesn't do anything, even when turned in either direction.
So my questions are: Is this truly the right one to adjust freestroke? If it is, any idea why it doesn't make any kind of change no matter how many times it's rotated in either direction? |

Free stroke adjustment is on the outside of the lever body. Your picture shows the inside.

My experience is strictly from Shimano mountain bike brakes, but the free stroke adjustment doesn't do anything unless you adjust the reach afterwards.
Here is a relevant link: https://youtu.be/D0uSTtDWbI8 When the bleed occurs and where the screw is when you do the bleed also has an impact. |

Thanks for the replies
I have the correct screw now, it's all the way in CW. Turning it CCW moves the tip of the lever out but doesn't really change where the pads start to bite, or at least I can't tell anyway. The pads are worn but still in spec so I'm trying to get the pad bite a little further away from the bars. I'll mess around with it a little more but if that doesn't seem to work, I'll put it back the way it was and live with it. |
