RIP Irio Tommasini
Very sad day as Irio Tommasini, founder of Tommasini cycles has died.
I currently have two Tommasini bikes and a third on the way. My last one, had a little bit of work done by Irio but that is it. When that bike was measured, they sent a video and image of me. I had also asked for lightest version of the bike I could get, to which Irio responded no, I was too fat and should not worry about a light bike. God bless that man. Rest in peace. https://www.maremmaoggi.net/e-morto-...QK7We5XyJ_vUqg Last edited by vespasianus; 10-07-2024 at 11:37 AM. |

I had a chance to visit the Tommasini workshop last summer. The son-in-law and daughter gave us a tour. Beautiful bikes made with a great sense of history.

I appreciate the candor regarding weight, but I really love the gorgeous frames.

Tommasini frames are wonderful and ride even better than they look. |

condolences to his family & friends
I almost pulled the trigger on one a few times. I've never heard anyone utter other than praise in regards to Tommasini. The man may be gone, but the bikes ride on.

RIP Irio - I rode my Tommasini just this past Saturday for first time in a while. One of my best climbing bikes, not sure why, but I sure do like it.

Someone just posted a Tommasini on Reddit Porn Bikes. His death was noted there too. Had the chance to get one years ago but instead got a Colnago with a precisa fork that felt like a slug. I soon sold it and by then the Tommasini was gone.

I purchased the Master with the idea that I would sell the Sintesi but the ride was not for me and I am still riding the Sintesi. Even with a semi "modern" carbon bike, some of my fastest climbing times are on that old Sintesi. The small Italian builder is fading away. I know it is just silly romanticism, but it has worked for me! |
