Roval wheel scratches
Friend of mine recently bought an Aethos and after a few rides noticed these scratches on the Roval carbon wheels.
They look superficial to me. He does not recall hitting anything that would cause it. I told him to take it a Specialized shop for evaluation. |

Looks like maybe it was leaned against something or maybe the bike was laid on its side on gravel and picked up and brushed across rocks or something rough? There’s an infinite supply of things it “could” be but the reality is it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Ouch. But I would *probably* just buff that out and call it good. Not completely out because those look too deep for that but Ive used luthier buffing pads for this type of thing. https://www.stewmac.com/luthier-tool...5513762f060d01 My guess is that the Specialized people will tell you to replace them. As a liability issue I could understand that.

I doubt it's an issue. A lot of us have carbon Roval MTB wheels. Scratches and gouges are part of the game when MTBing with carbon wheels.
