Sad to hear.
I had and enjoyed my Parlee for a few years.
Bob Parlee came to my LBS a few years ago and had a night with a big discussion about bikes. Hard to fill shoes like his in this industry.

I didn't know him personally - but he sure did make a mark on the world with his vision for bikes and execution of the ideas.. and for that he'll forever have my respect. I've enjoyed riding and gawking at every Parlee that's come through my garage. As it turns out, I have another inbound -- and RZ7 from TPC (where else?) that was offered too cheap not to give a whirl for a bit. That bike is probably the most progressive model Parlee conceived and I'll ride it in appreciation for his contribution to the world of bikes we all love so dearly.

Here's a look at the Parlees I've owned.. for a short time and a good time. My white-whale is a XL Z0 disc or rim, or thereabouts. Would buy one of those without a second thought if the fit, finish, and price is right.

It's hard to believe that Parlee was such a young company when it was making its mark in the 2000's. I never met the man but have had nothing but great interactions with the company.

RIP Mr Parlee. Met him once at a race in Beverly, MA. Super nice, down to earth, we talked bikes for quite some time.

Thanks for posting, Charles. My wife’s Parlee has been her go to road bike for years, so I get to see, and ride with, a great bike piloted by a sublime rider.

I find it inspiring and somehow comforting in troubled times to learn more about a person who had a vision/idea and had also the grit and persistence to make that idea an ongoing reality, to the betterment of others, in this case the cycling community. Well done, Bob Parlee, ride in peace.
