Powder Coat shop in SF Bay Area?

There have been a few threads on this, but they are fairly dated at this point.

Does anyone have a good powder coat shop in SF bay area? Northern location is best, but I'll drive for a good quality finish.

Frame is a lugged Serotta S&S travel frame so experience with bikes would be good. I'd like to keep some lug shoreline definition and not have the Serotta Ss completely filled with powder.

Some names I've picked up:
  • West Coast Powder Coating, South SF (Used by Sycip?)
  • Reliable Powder, San Leandro
  • Powder Coat It, Santa Cruz (Used by Rock Lobster?)
  • Maas Bros, Livermore

Thanks for sharing any recent experiences and recommendations!

If my best bet is to send to Groody Bros, I'm willing to listen, but would prefer to avoid shipping if possible.

(yes, I definitely want a powder coat finish as this is a travel frame and it gets stuffed in a box with relative frequency.)

TNT powdercoating - Shingle Springs, CA

Number of my friends have used West Coast Powdercoating for tig-welded frames. But supposedly West Coast is bike-knowledgeable, so worth a call to them to inquire more.

Do any of these guys deal with decals or painted on graphics and logos? Sandblast or acid dip? I've read that you don't want to sandblast a thin walled steel frame. A guy in my cycling group rebuilds old bikes and has them powder coated, but they are sandblasted and have no decals.

Melrose Metal Finishing in Oakland. Have used them twice now. They do a lot of auto and moto stuff. Matt Feeney at Pass & Stow Racks turned me onto them. Check their IG.

I used Fusion Coatings in Livermore. They media blasted the frame and coated my CRT in a RAL color of choice. The coating did not fill the lugs or engravings much, but probably more than wet paint.

Good luck!
