London visit - bike rental

Traveling to London in early October and hoping to get a little riding in. I saw some posts from several years ago, but thought I’d start a new one since they were all pre-pandemic.
Any recommendations for where one can rent a decent road bike?
Even better - anyone local care to meet up for a ride?

Years ago I already knew of a framebuilder/bike shop in Slough (a city west of London near Windsor). They had some nice used bikes for sale. They agreed to sell one that fit me for £300. They were wiling to buy it back after a couple of weeks for £250. We agreed on this plan when I "bought" it. That way they were't taking a chance on damage or theft. This method might be an option if you can't find what you want to rent.

I’m tempted to sign up for a Rapha RCC membership and renting a Factor in London

Hi,
Based in SW - can meet up, and maybe even sort/lend/borrow bike.
Send a PM if interested.

This sounds awesome and like I’d end up taking a frame home with me, which sounds like trouble.

I saw RCC mentioned and didn’t realize those clubs were still running. Will take another look!
