DI2 derailleur calibration process with e-tube app

I just tried to do this for my FD.
It's a six-step process that requires changing gears between steps, which I can't do while I am connected to the e-tube, the shifters seem to be disabled while connected.
I.e. I perform a step, once the e-tube app asks me to change the gearing, I need to disconnect, shift, reconnect, and continue the process.
It just doesn't seem to be correct. Am I doing something wrong?

Is this you can’t do via junction A and the shifters? https://bettershifting.com/ Is usually the best place to look for Di2 info.

While the on-screen text suggests that you need to change to specific gears yourself.... you don't. Like you discovered, you can't.

Just tap 'next' and the app will change gears for you ;-)

That's precisely what it was!
Thank you!
