Old Tires: When to get rid of, upcycling?

I have an embarrassing amount of old tires in my possession and hate the idea of just getting rid of them (clearly, as I've had them for-freaking-ever.)

Talking tires I may not have ridden for 8 years, and may be even older than that. I'm under the impression that most are good, with the exception of likely being dry rotted -- I wouldn't typically keep a tire that wasn't -- but not I have a bunch and feeling overwhelmed by clutter.

So I'm here to ask:
1) Have you done anything interesting with old tires?
2) Does anyone want a bunch of old tires with which to do something interesting?
3) or should I throw them the eff out? (or recycle, if applicable)

8 years may be a long time, but if they're still good you can donate them to a bike coop or such!

You should do what I do with my old tires...save them until they're dry rotted, then wistfully pitch them into the shop bin.

Or...donate them to one of the co-ops that take parts/gear donations for reuse...

I've got a box almost full of parts and clothing and tires that I will either drop at one group in Falmouth or ship to the Bradley Street Bike Coop in New Haven...

Old tires are dangerous so I dont use or donate them . I use them on a wheel on trainer or cut them up.
