So I got caught in the rain in a pair of white Lakes. and now they have brownish stains near the ankle area. any idea on how to clean them without ruining them?

Some pics would help. I got rained on many times wearing my white CX403s without staining them.

I've had luck making a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and leaving it on for a bit to do it's thing.

Is the stain on the leather portion or the fabric lining? If it is only on the leather I would say magic eraser is going to be your champion. Worecutter recommends some oxygen bleach.

I use a Magic Eraser on my white shoes, although I understand that they are bad for the environment (microplastics). So I'll be looking into the other solutions posted here when they run out.
