Did Erickson pass away?
I saw an Erickson FS on FB group and a comment was 'may he rest in peace'. I thought he was still with us? My google-fu failed to find an obituary etc--thought someone here might know?

sad news then
sorry to learn this. I believe he had already retied from frame making when I got stationed in WA in '06, but I saw a few of his bikes on various rides I did when stationed in WA--looked to be really nicely made. Almost bought one, but the timing was wrong with our PCS move to SoCal.

That's sad to hear. Glenn was a great guy and one of the first generation great American framebuilders, along with his business partner Angel Rodriguez. They inspired the next generation of framebuilders.
I had a custom crit bike made by Glenn back in the day. I wish I still had it, though its 42-19 lowest gear would need some modifying. https://www.rodbikes.com/articles/hi...ical-tour.html |

He was in his mid-70s. He was struggling with Parkinson's for many years. Beautiful bikes. From what I have heard, even better man.

I want to second these thoughts. I got to know him a bit when I spent the summer at UW in 1982. Finely-crafted frames, a pro bike shop on University Way. I bumped into him in the narrow hallway of a hotel in rural France 17 years later and he was as friendly and personable and gracious as ever. RIP, Glenn.

Yes he’s gone. Parkinson’s and then dementia. He built us a beautiful tandem and I went on two tours in France with him, including his last on I that he went on to Provence and the Maritime Alps. His son Galen drove the van on one of them and he posted on Facebook as did Erickson Tours about Glenn’s passing. He built very nice bikes and ran even better tours. While I haven’t been in touch the past 6 years he certainly enriched my life in many ways.
