Wow! I love it.
I've been using super glue for years and it works great. The real thin stuff gets in deep and hit with accelerator and you don't even need the metal caps any more. |

Started out with solder many years ago, when Cyanoacrylate became available switched to glue. I despise those crimp on cable ends, just another environmental pollutant, should be banned!

Also super glue here, the squeezable gel version that I can store in the mini-fridge by the work bench.

Oh yeah I forgot I used to use solder too. Sometimes though the solder would simply not melt in. I guess I needed flux or something. But yeah CA glue for the win.

I think it is the presence of oils. CA...genius. Gotta try it.

That is what flux is for, helps clean up the contaminants. Also need to have a soldering iron or propane mini torch that can put out enough Watts or heat to bring the cable to the proper temperature.

So what do you do with them when you need to replace a cable?
Are you one of those people who keeps caps on there presta valves? Hehe!

Uncrimp, remove, then put it back on the new cable. I’m not even joking.

Good on you, I find it much simpler to put a new dab of glue on the new cable.

I don't get the excitement. I've done the same thing using two fingers instead of a zip tie.
