I'm using a set of Pirelli PZero Race 30mm's on my Boone as a road bike setup this summer. So far so great.

If you go for 30mm vs 32mm I highly recommend the Michelin Power Cup TLR.
I personally do like GP5000, for me they have been a "set and forget" tire — I have a set of Vittoria Corsa Pro in 32mm I'm yet to mount, but the 28mm version got two bad punctures in less than 100 miles for me this spring. They feel great but durability does not seem to be their strong suit. |

This, absolutely love these on my Hampsten. Veloflex makes some killer tires and the tubeless give up nothing to their tubed and tubular stablemates. Unlike others, they are also actually true to size.
Other option is Vittoria Corsa Pro/Control. I've run control 28s on another set of wheels and been quite happy. I tend to swap between Vittoria and Veloflex on my bikes, and went Veloflex for the tubeless 32s because Vittoria didn't have an equivalent at the time. Will likely test out the Vitoria next time. |

I've been running 32mm gp5k STR since they came out without any issues. Next tire will likely be the gp5k all seasons since they offer a bit more protection.

Just built up a new bike and put the 5000 S TRs on. I went with 30mm tire on 25mm internal rims - Wow, so nice. I know you had a bad experience with the 5000s but I would still try the TR.
I also have the Corsa Pros in 32mm on some 24mm internal rims. Great tire and feel amazing but so little tread coverage and I'm always paranoid about flatting with them. |

What he sez, plus GP 5000 STR. The old GP 5000 tubed = suckhole flat-O-matic, the tubeless so far good, although a wrestling match to get on/off on my Dt rims. My priorities: 1. Flat protection, 2. Rolling resistance. A couple 1000 miles and so far no flats on either tire. |

I’m leaning towards the Pirelli’s.
Where do you buy your tires? Best price I’ve found is at 365Cycle @ $80/tire. I’ve been used to buying tubed 25/28 tires for $80/pair so bit of sticker shock going on. |

Are you aiming for 32mm installed width, or are you set on 32mm stated width?
Bike Closet has the Pirelli's in 30mm stated width for $60. https://bikecloset.com/product/pirel...made-in-italy/ On your 24mm internal rims, these will probably inflate around 31-32mm actual width. |

I’ve never heard of bikecloset. But the price seems good. |

Probably won't get the most love on here, but I really like the Specialized Roubaix 2Bliss 30/32 tires. They can be run tubeless or tubed.
They ride decently and have pretty good flat protection. Works a treat for me. Re: Bike Closet I have a few things I want to pick up for there and always forget. So thanks for the reminder! Last edited by ridethecliche; 05-22-2024 at 02:13 PM. |

I've had good experiences with Panaracer products, both GravelKing Slick and Agilest ... easy tubeless setup on both and have been quite durable although Agilest has slightly better road feel, as expected. Also price point seems lower than Conti/Schwalbe/Vittoria ...

Anecdotal evidence on bike tires strikes me as especially unhelpful, even useless, since there are so many variables, including variations within tire brands and models. This site has some actual data on tires that I've found pretty helpful.
