Cyclingnews Subscription

There are a few articles I would like to read over at Cyclingnews, now Chris Horner would certify me as a complete knuckle head but I cannot figure out how to sign up for a subscription.

Every time I click on one of their "Join Now" buttons their system just takes me around in circles asking me to "log in" again. Can anyone provide a pointer? I have a "log on" and "password" and have verified my email address.

I was subscribed, but after I did that, I got stuck in an infinite loop of trying to log in every time I connect it to their web page. I had to email their support to unsubscribe.

Honestly, it's not you right now. Until they figure out their software, don't even try.

Same here, it was absolutely useless and trying to get help from them was impossible.

For now you can simply copy the link and open it in a private browser session to bypass the limit.

I read all the content on my Mac with the "Reader" option toggled. I too tried to subscribe and it was a frustrating ordeal a while back.

It's really too bad. Cyclingnews has some of the best content in the English-speaking cycling journalism world. I wanted to support them and subscribe, but the substance of their business is being completely undermined by the technology infrastructure of their business.

Weird. I was able to read that article a few days ago. Now it's restricted. Well, it works for most content.

I've been having the same problem--I've paid for a year's subscription, and most of the time when I go there now, I get stuck in a sign-in loop. I've contacted them to complain, and got a completely unhelpful response, and the problem persists. Very annoying.

I wonder if it's a North American thing--when I filled out the help request form, it wouldn't allow a North American address. Do they not want our subscriptions?

I had been going through the same log-in doom loop with Cycling News and have gotten one canned response and one helpful one when I sent a message via their parent company's system. The first explained that the repetitive sign on nonsense was a tech glitch that has now been fixed, and I have been able to log on and have not been asked to re-do it, so that's good news. The second glitch is perhaps more serious but they have offered to fix it.

Essentially, they created several different accounts for me covering different time periods during all this sign-in stuff, so I actually have received a way to either switch those accounts to other magazines (rrriiiggghht). Or I can send them the account numbers and they cancel the two extra accounts. I'm in the US, btw. Hopefully their suggested solutions will work. I do count on them for coverage and am in the process of fixing their mess up with the hope that they have not charged me for each account. So BOLO for this phenomenon once you're back on line with your account at Cycling News. There's a page with your account data where it'll be easy to see if they've created extra accounts for you. [On edit, I'm pretty sure the multiple account comes from their persistent and irregular demands that you renew your account.]
