OK, you got me thinking about roasting my own coffee. Can I use the crockpot I got at the thrift store for chain waxing, just take the wax out in between waxing sessions, which occur every few months?

You need 400-500 degrees and stirring. There are various solutions to this, from buying a countertop roaster ($$$) to DIY. Bread maker + heat gun is one approach. I have a rotisserie basket powered by my drill on my Weber. Roasts 2# at a time and works a treat. |

Years of work in radio broke me, so I'm up at 5:30 most days of the week. By 8am I'm up to coffee cruising speed ... eight o'clock coffee is just fine in that scenario. Also 9 o'clock through 1pm coffee, if I'm being honest.

the whole hill smelled like …… victory
My initial response like others have posted was also Yergacheffe though as noted other East African coffees will also share a similar fruity/floral profile ,I think it’s only available as a light maybe medium max roast .We are talking mother lode /origin of species type stuff here ,hideously expensive but definitely worth giving a try and if no joy embrace the world of tea .I’ve compared non-coffee drinkers giving this a bash to non-whiskey drinkers trying Laphroig [Apologies for spelling if wrong ]

I always drank tea and just got into coffee the past year.
I always make Latte’s My son in law owns a coffee company that roasts and grinds beans and distributes to local businesses. I tried different roasts and like medium the best. The one I have is organic Central America. I use a Moka Pot with Aeropress filters and it is very easy to use and comes out great. I don’t need anything more than that. I just bought a grinder but have not used it on whole beans yet. |

For the OP, have you tried Matcha tea. High level of caffeine, but can be pricey.
