Unique Out Front Computer Mount Ideas

I recently installed a rather massive Supernova dynamo headlight. After trying their mounting hardware for a go-pro/k-edge mount the pictured setup was the only way to really get the light properly aligned. Plus the weight of it being extended forward of the bars felt strange.

However now my unique problem. I can’t figure out a good put front computer mount solution. All of the options I’ve seen bend down the keep the computer in line with the stem plate. I see examples like Silca’s which bolt into the stem face plate, but only ever mounted on the bottom two bolts. Has anyone ever mounted one of those on the top two bolts? Or is there an out front mount which is angled upwards (almost like if you flipped a K-edge upside down)?

I could probably do a steerer tube mount which puts the computer directly on top of the stem but beyond not liking the aesthetics of that, I have to look down a fair bit more to see it given my bike fit. Not ideal when I’m trying to quickly get a gps update.

Happy to hear any suggestions. Light is the M99 DY Pro.

You could look through the options from F3, eg.

I crop the image a hair and that seems to set it right on uploads.

Pictures likely from iPhone and attached as .HEIC which messes up the orientation.
Too bad the Dynamo mount didn't drop the light down under the stem instead...
What stem are you running?

That will tell us a bit more and open up alternative Computer/light mounts.
Overall, I'd say you are due to order one of these and ditch the current light mount.

I think you'll be able to find something that works on the top bolts but it may take some trial and error depending on the exact clearance to the light. On some mounts you may be able to flip the mount and take apart the plastic insert that holds the computer and flip that as well.

Another option, if you're willing to change stems, is the Zipp integrated computer mount which can be run on either the top or bottom bolts.

Stem is a Nitto something. Not wed to it but I do like the style, finish, and specs. The light is attached via the Supernova UBM (Universal Handlebar Mount).

Good thread here with some options:
https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=263849

I'm working on updating the tag on all the current 'Computer/light mount' threads so they can be searched via 'Tag Search'.
https://forums.thepaceline.net/tags....or+light+mount

However, if I was in your situation I would keep the stem, ditch the current dynamo mount and buy this for the Dynamo and pair it with this K-Edge Combo Mount. Bonus points if you can find one in Silver. That means you can angle the K-edge to get the Garmin in the right orientation and also have the swivel on the light via the Go-Pro mount to get the beam dialed in.

Big fan of this Ritchey stem mount, which I’ve used to get my B&M dynamo light low and out of the way. Very adjustable and rock solid for keeping the light in place on rough trails. Should give you plenty of room to mount a computer above it.

I’m looking for a similar solution.

Two options that I’m looking at (which may or may not work for you) are:

Spacer mounted GoPro fitting which would keep the headlight close to the frame and avoid that feeling that you get when you have a weighted front handlebar:

https://www.amazon.com/Camera-Mount-...s%2C131&sr=8-3

The other option I’m looking at is the Cane Creek computer mount which allows fore and aft and up-and-down adjustment:

I’ll be watching the space for some other ideas.
