I can't imagine this being a less than an all day effort for me. I'm thinking to leave the city around 5 am and I don't expect arrival until close to sundown.

I wouldn't ride on 611 more than I have to anyway. I don't see any stretches of 611 that look closed on 511PA except they aren't showing any traffic between Belvedere and Portland, which of course is the rideable part.
If you are riding on unknown roads in PA, it's worth checking their site. https://www.511pa.com/ |

I still would avoid 611 at all costs. Going through Belvidere would be far more scenic with far less traffic. |

Thanks for the update! What do you think of going north via Rimrock from wind gap to saylorburg/bartonsville and taking sullivan trail beyond that? Too busy? That would break up the climbing a bit.

If you don't mind one big climb....i can suggest a route to Belvidere via Foul Rift Rd that goes along the Delaware River on the NJ side.

I'm trying to bring down the elevation a bit and break up the huge hump at the 100 mile mark... |

Damnit : this thread has me itching for some DWG riding. Sitting at an SFO bar right now scheming at finding some time this weekend to sneak out there.
This thread needs photos!

Funny, I’m leaving the Bucks County area to settle in Philadelphia this weekend. Incredible riding in the Water Gap and river areas in general. Route 29 pacelines, Uhlerstown Hill Road, Fiddlers Elbow…can other users back me up on this?

IIRC covered bridges are more a SEPA thing.

There are covered bridges on the PA side fairly close to the Delaware. Maybe not so many as far north as people are talking in this thread.
