Sticky Mavic ID360 Freehub Body
Hello all,
I come back with a question on my rear Mavic wheel that hosts the ID360 system. When coming back from a ride on Friday, I noticed that the chain would dangle when stopping to pedal. It seems like the freehub body is a little sticky and doesn't spin freely when ratcheting. When rotating the pedals with the bike on a stand, the pedals will continue spinning after releasing from my hand. With the wheel unmounted, the freehub does not appear to make odd noises and does seem to spin relatively freely, although with a little more friction than usual from what I recall. I opened up the freehub body and it all looks clean, albeit a little dry. Do folks have any recommendations/pointers as to what it could be? Could adding oil/grease help with this issue? I will mention that the wheels are basically new (<1,000 KM) and I do not notice other issues. If it's only lubrication that is required, which one is recommended? Thanks in advance for your help! |

I hear DT Swiss red may work since it’s light grease. The DT unit uses similar gear drive as Mavic. Demande freehub oil may work also.
