I'll second the suggestion to run it over to Mac at Cool Planet Bikes. If you wanted to sell it, he could work out either a consignment or something else, maybe just buying it off you outright.

And as others have said, you need to be tall too if you want to ride it yourself.

Mac and I went to college together (and he currently lives just up the street from me - it's a crazy small world), he's the one who suggested I come to you all.

I am 6' so definitely tall/long-legged enough to ride the Serotta (with some modifications). I am not entirely sure I want to if there is a market for it (I love my Trek which is spec'd to me perfectly).

Where did you guys go to college, UVM? St. Mike's?

If you are tall enough you should just clean it up and try riding it. You might get hooked! Lot's of beautiful roads to ride, flat and climbs. I remember that much from my years doing the Green Mountain Stage Race and old Stowe Bike race. Or you can just ride a flatlanders route up the Burlington Bike path to the Champlain Islands. I think there is a bike ferry that connects Colchester to the Islands during the summer months.

And if you decide you don't enjoy riding, then it sell it!

It's a buyer's market for steel Serottas. My estimate for a bike like this on eBay would be $600 to $900.

I'm sure the bike rides great, and if you can get it fit to you, you should try it out. You already own the Trek, but that's no reason that you can't have a second bike.

I'd sell it if it were me.

I'd clean it gently with dish soap and water, and degrease the drive train. After that, it's about the photos. Then, check ebay for sold listings. I'm going to guess that this bike is in the $700-1000 range on ebay. Local sales typically are at a discount.

Mee too. I'd clean it up..send it to Matt for a really good tune and replace of anything and put it on the market. Seller's market right now and it would be great for somebody to get it to ride, since you say you have a rig that is exactly what you want at the moment(Trek).

I was attempting to have a laugh at Dad’s expense by referring to the bike as “vintage” because he’s an old man. Perhaps I should have referred to the bike as an antique. :-D
