Onyx ISO front boost conversion

Hey all,

Managed to make myself a new problem. Got a new (used) fork for my MTB but I didn’t realize it was boost spacing. I have an Onyx 100x15 front hub currently. Can I just buy the Onyx 110x15 axle and swap them out, or is it better/easier to do the Problem Solver boost conversion kit?

#bikesarethebestbikesaretheworst

Cheers,

JB

Thanks for the effort! I couldn’t work it out either. I’d already sent them a question about Micro Spline drivers since I couldn’t work that out either!!

They have a bad website but A great product, I am selling my wheels because I am switched to a boost frame and it’s a sad day. Mine are centrelock, so adapting them is difficult/ impossible

I have easily fit a non boost onyx vesper front into a boost fork.

there are several different kits, but the kit with two 5mm axle spacers and a small rotor spacer (with longer bolts) is infinitely better than the stupid ones wher you redish the front wheel.

The Onyx solution is a complete new hub. They do not make axle spacers that are non-boost plus 5mm. So the aftermarket 5mm spacers and rotor spacer kit is the way to go.

No these are the previous generation ones in centrelock format. Non-Vesper.

They will likely go with my Banshee as a complete bike.

Pretty much everyone that makes boost hubs adds the extra width in between the flanges of the shell. You know, so it actually does some good. The "hack" conversion kits are the only way to change compatibility in those situations.

FYI from Onyx on boost axle:

"Hi JB,
We do have a conversion axle, different from the normal boost axle. Same cost of $30 plus shipping.
The wheel would need to be re-dished after install. Let us know if you would like an invoice."

Went with Problem Solvers....
