Packable Rain Jacket
Looking for thoughts on a lightweight packable rain jacket for fall riding.
I've used an Assos ClimaJacket (I think that it is called...white/clear) that is getting worn out and grungy after 10 or so yrs of use. Not looking for something to keep me dry in a hurricane, just something windproof with decent waterproofing for misting, roadspray, etc.... Sub $200 would be great....sub $125 would be ideal... What do you folks like? Should probably add....looking for form fitting, no hood

Gore Shakedry
ligthweight packable in those two departments, the shakedry scores full points. Other considerations may factor but on those two criteria alone, there's no contest. https://youtu.be/PYehimBoBSU

I bought the Endura Pro SL jacket in a green color last spring. My same Assos jacket is also disintegrating . The Endura is slightly less packable but I like the visibility compared to the Gore Shakedry. I don't want to ride around the gloomy PNW in a black jacket.
The Endura is waterproof but like every other waterproof coat I've owned you sweat when you're working hard. I like the coat. We'll see what the winter brings.

+1 on Endura. I bought their cheap $50ish wind jacket that packs down to "the size of a can of Irn Bru" for most of my winter season riding, because I prefer my damp from the outside rather than the inside. That said, the jacket is surprisingly water resistant if not proof. It also fits me better than many other brands.

+1 for Endura. I think I have the pakajak. I'm sure you can spend more on something nicer but works great for what I need.

Gore shakedry jacket is the most compactable, driest and coolest (temperature) jacket I used. The only issue is it is black.

the cannondale 'pack me' jacket that's been decent....its water-resistent so if the rain gets hard, it'll soak through. Still its good for a mist or a light rain. Lot cheaper than $200...think I found mine for $30 on closeout a few years ago.

7mesh Oro jacket is better than Gore shakedry IMHO. However, it is more $$$$.

I bought a rapha wind jacket on one of their big sales. Burgundy color, understated, fits great, stylish. Made in Italy. Does the things you requested. Packs tiny. Keep an eye out for the next sale! [note:this one garment made think that maybe some of the Rapha hype wasn’t hype entirely]

Pactimo ultralight ($70) ocasionally marks down to $40/$45 or so and packs easily in center pocket. Have pretty much stopped carrying Gore Oxygen jackets in favor of the clear Pactimo ultralight.

I'm a fan of the Sportful Hot Pack line-up.
Often on sale, too. |

Just got a Rapha classic rain jacket on sale. Is not great for ventilation. Wasn't expecting it to be. Will be a niche piece. My old EMS Gore Tex with the huge zippered side vents and adjustable cuffs is pretty much unbeatable for ventilation. Similarly with my slightly beefier Showers Pass.

Sportful Hot Pack No Rain Ultralight
I own the Sportful Hot pack No Rain Ultralight in flour yellow, waterproof, great fit, breathable, very packable, I take it with me just in case, fits in the bottom of a rear jersey pocket, great jacket!
Heres a link on sale at Excel, not sure if they have sizes, but I' also look around for the fluro yellow. https://www.excelsports.com/main.asp...hoCzQ4QAvD_BwE |

Came across this but don't have one myself. I've seen their white/ translucent rain capes in the past that were nice and thin but they were a bit pricey for me.
