best rear light for saddle mount?
i see fizik, specialized, and prologo have some sort of integration for clipping on a rear light. any idea which one is the best light? i'm fine with any of the solutions, but prefer specialized cuz their saddles fit me best.
fwiw, i'm using a planet bike superflash that i'm happy with now so that's my point of reference. |

Lupine Rotlicht. http://www.lupinenorthamerica.com/ro...mount_rail.asp
I linked to the mount but you can see the light in the YT clip. Mounted on the rails, it's out of the way and a little higher for better visibility. And you won't find a finer rear light.

I like the convenience (I don't have to remember to attach it, it's always there) and stealthy aesthetic of the fizik, but it is nowhere near as effective a light as a PB Superflash. Better than no light at all, but just barely.

I have mounted this light successfully on both the traditional rounded and aero seatpost.

Holding steady over here with old faithful zip ties. The original mount snapped after a month. 2 small holes with a drill bit and we are good to go.

does that lupine mount get in the way of a saddle bag? looks like it should mount a bit higher. |

What's your take on the Blaze? I use one of their Diablos up front. Quality stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Alas, it definitely gets in the way. It's designed to attach to the rails where horizontal, so only goes so far back. Unless you have a very small bag and a very set back saddle, it's an either/or thing.
