The $1000 race bike build is underway. I most likely am going to go over but Just bought a 2009 Caad 9 5 for $450. In my estimation the bike was ridden once or twice(and the cateye appears to verify that!). I am up for any suggestions!
Sell the current pedals (shimano pd8530) and get some SPD-SLs(net $75) Better wheels, tires and tubes to race ($425) Dura Ace 7800 Rear Derailleur ($50) Optional Dura Ace Cassette? 12-27 ($80) Crank? Handlebars? Bar Tape? http://bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeS...&model=CAAD9+5 |

Nice,
Derailuers, cassette and crank get you nowhere unless you need ratios different. Then, no need for DA stuff. Ultegra will do just fine. Bars and tape are personal and only for fit. Good tires are always a win, wheelset if you can swing it. Enjoy that, super bike. |
