Wilier Identification
I recently bought a Wilier Triestina from a nice gent right here on Paceline (thanks Ted!). I really only bought it to ride/train on, and it's absolutely fantastic for that.
However, I started getting curious about the bike's origins. I've search the internet and only come up with Wilier's from the 90's that were made of Scandium like the one Pantani rode back in the day. I can't find any info/catalogs on aluminum Wilier's from this era - even though I doubt they're rare (except maybe here in the US). Anyone have any further info on the bike? Dont know anything about older wiliers really but i remember cing this awhile ago.

That looks like a replica of the one Pantani rode on the Alpe D'Huez back in the day. http://torosvecchi.files.wordpress.c.../05/wilier.jpg Although from what I've read, Pantani's was Scandium. I'm pretty sure mine is 'only' aluminum. But that one on 'happymtb' says it's aluminum too. Maybe it's the same frame with different paint? Last edited by jeremiah; 02-22-2013 at 02:15 PM.

These frames originally came with a threaded headset/fork combination which i searched for endlessly with no luck. I'm happy the bike is treating you well! It is a good feeling selling a bicycle to someone that is going to ride the hell out of it.
