I mean they work with the other hydro campy so they will work with ekar, pretty sure its the same exact system.

Oddly, the part numbers for the Ekar levers and the H11/H12 levers, they are different. We haven't been able to get a real answer on it though. But the small parts catalog shows different internal parts numbers.

But arent the calipers of ekar identical to the h11?

Visually they are different, but the the pad pin looks to be in the same spot and internal design could be the same?

They are supposed to be, and the internals in the levers are different. Which is why we questioned the fluid. Wondering if there was a serious difference and if the internals were interchangeable. We still haven't gotten a solid answer from anyone. Originally we were told everything would be 100% the same and then when things became real, there were differences and then the small parts catalog showed different numbers. And I don't know anyone whose had to take them apart yet so I have no idea what the difference is.

I managed to borrow 9-42T Ekar Cassette from a friend of mine and did a simple measurements.
I measured in several places and did some averaging. Also did measure distance between 2 teeth and subtract the thickness of the teeth. In my conclusion the Ekar Cassette Spacing is approximately 3.35mm. See attached pictures. A.W |

I tried searching the thread but came up blank. It mightve already been asked but anyone know if the Ekar Rear der would work with an 11 speed chorus shifter?
Having a clutch RD sounds nice to me but Ill live if it doesnt work. 11 speed shifter, 11 speed cassette, ekar rd |

Same for the RH EKAR lever. I'm betting it's just cable spool takeup dimensions coupled with rear der geometry=13s..But I donno.

Hi A.W., I tried to send a PM but it looks like you don't have that feature active. I'm impressed with your digital calipers and only have a cheap Harbor Freight set myself, producing inconsistent results. I see a set like yours on Amazon for $110-$150. I'm not an engineer and that's a bit pricey for something used recreationally. But I'd like to be able to do some of the analysis you did in this Ekar thread, myself. Any recommendations?
Apologies to you and others for asking this question in the Ekar thread. |
